My Story

I'm Adelaide Dede Abaidoo, founder of Gloca Cosmetics.

I grew up in Ghana without much. That shapes you. You learn how to stretch, how to build, how to keep going when nobody is handing you a shortcut. I carry that into Gloca.

I started my entrepreneurship journey while I was in level 200 at the University of Cape Coast. I wasn't studying beauty. I was studying Information Technology. But I kept seeing a gap: too many women were using products that fought their natural hair and skin. The "results" came with trade-offs—dryness, irritation, breakage, and fear about what repeated exposure to harsh ingredients can do over time.

So I started small. I began creating organic blends with a high natural content. I leaned on ingredients I trust—ingredients we know in Ghana. I wasn't trying to create another beauty trend. I was trying to solve a real problem and build a brand that helps young people—especially women—feel confident in their natural hair and skin.

Gloca is still founder-led. If you've seen our labels, our logo, our photos, our content—know that I'm behind it. I build this brand with my own hands, my own skills, and a stubborn belief that you can start where you are and still create something that lasts.

Gloca is my work-in-progress success story, and it's bigger than me. It's Ghana. It's local ingredients. It's craft. It's jobs. It's proof that "made in Ghana" can mean quality, care, and pride.

Values

The principles that guide everything we do at Gloca Cosmetics.

Nature First

We believe nature has what hair and skin need. That's why our products are built around Ghanaian ingredients like shea butter and honey, with herbal blends that support healthy routines.

Confidence in What You Were Born With

We don't sell "fixing" you. We stand for you. Gloca exists to help you feel good in your natural hair and skin—no apology, no hiding.

Craft, Not Shortcuts

We make our products by hand, with care and consistency. We'd rather do it right than do it fast.

Local Impact

We source locally and support the people behind the ingredients—farmers, makers, and small suppliers. When you buy Gloca, money stays closer to home.

Learn. Build. Share.

We stay open to learning and improving. We build with what we have, then we raise the standard—again and again.

Our Promise

What We Put In Matters

Every Gloca product is made with carefully selected ingredients—rooted in Ghanaian staples like shea butter and honey, plus herbal blends we trust.

What We Leave Out Matters Too

No synthetic chemicals. No parabens. No artificial fragrances. No extras that don't serve your hair or skin.

Made in Ghana, With Care

We don't outsource the heart of our work. Gloca is handcrafted in Ghana using methods that respect both tradition and quality.

Giving Back

In 2022, through our outreach programs at Delkom Charity Foundation, I met a family living in Akokrom in Ghana's Central Region. My engagement with them was not driven by pity, but by a genuine need to create dignity, sustainability, and opportunity.

The family consists of a woman and her three children, living without the support of a husband. All four of them face health conditions that prevent them from engaging in hard labor. As a result, basic needs such as food and daily living have been a constant struggle. Even on days when they are able to visit the farm, their condition does not allow them to carry harvested foodstuffs home.

Despite these challenges, the woman possesses a valuable skill—she is highly experienced in producing coconut oil. This skill aligned naturally with my work at Gloca Cosmetics, where coconut oil is one of our key organic raw materials. Seeing this opportunity, I sought to integrate her directly into the Gloca value chain by patronizing her coconut oil production, enabling her to earn income with dignity rather than depend solely on aid.

Unfortunately, her health condition limits her ability to collect coconuts consistently, making it difficult for her to produce the quantity of oil required for regular supply. In response, rather than disengage, I made a deliberate decision to absorb her support directly through Gloca Cosmetics, while continuing assistance through Delkom Charity Foundation.

Gloca Cosmetics, through Delkom Charity Foundation, has provided sustained support to the family. This includes educational materials such as books and school bags for the children, foodstuffs, clothing, and other basic necessities. While the support may seem small, its impact has been meaningful—helping the family survive, stay hopeful, and maintain dignity in the face of persistent hardship.

This reflects what Gloca Cosmetics stands for: business with purpose, where impact, compassion, and community empowerment are embedded into the brand, not separated from it.
